Be Different, Be Brave, Be You!

AWARENESS
Awareness is the state of being conscious of something. More specifically, it is the ability to directly know and perceive, to feel, or to be cognizant of COMPASSION.

Marginalization

Social exclusion or marginalisation is the social disadvantage and relegation to the fringe of society.

Stigmatization

Social stigma is the disapproval of, or discrimination against, an individual or group based on perceivable social characteristics that serve to distinguish them from other members of a society.

Vulnerability

Vulnerability refers to the quality or state of being exposed to the possibility of being attacked or harmed, either physically or emotionally.

“Give them the education which will train their heads to refuse the wretchedness of mind and skill their hands to develop the resources of Africa.”
> Julius Kambarage Nyerere

Awareness and Justice for the most

Marginalised, Stigmatized, Vulnerable

Street children and young people

Many children in our country live in poverty and grow up without education and chances for better lives. They are vulnerable to all sorts of abuse, violence etc.

Albinism

One in 1500 Tanzanians are born with albinism. Yet their lives are in danger not only because of the sun, but because of superstitious persecution and stigma.

Birthmarks and visible diseases

Birthmarks, skin diseases and tropical diseases like lepra are often a reason for those suffering also being outcast and marginalized in society.

Awareness and Justice for the most

Marginalized, Stigmatized, Vulnerable

Disabled, Handicapped

A person with a disability/handicap has a medically definable condition that limits a person's movements, senses, or activities.

Struggling Youth

Children's Rights as defined by the UN guarantee a childhood in a space without violence, abuse, labour. The reality is often the opposite.

HIV

An HIV diagnosis is often like a condemnation, cutting off social contact and being cast out into poverty and lack of opportunity.
